We offer help in preparing for the CORE Academic Skills for Educators Test. We also administer College Level Examination Program (CLEP) testing, which allows you to earn college credit without enrolling in college courses.
Coaching and Advising
Holland Academic Success Center coaches and advisors help you focus on academic and career goals. You'll receive one-on-one guidance in creating academic goals and outlining steps to reach them, as well as thinking about your future and what your path might include for graduation and beyond. We also offer mentoring for Susan T. Buffett scholarship recipients.
Get your questions answered about a class, study for an exam, and discuss difficult concepts with an upperclass student through the Peer Tutor Program. Peer tutors are available to all Wayne State College students at no additional expense. No appointments are necessary. Peer tutors are scheduled for fall and spring semesters only.
Need a second pair of eyes to review your paper? Available both on campus and online, writing tutors help you clarify concepts, improve critical thinking, develop paragraphs and transitions, work on organization, increase vocabulary, incorporate and correctly document secondary sources, and write logical, grammatically correct, clear sentences.
If you want to help your peers in learning material for a class, apply to become a peer tutor. Compensation is $10 per hour. Requirements include:
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- 60 credit hours completed
